There is something about the last light of an Aegean evening that always makes me pause. Two empty chairs, a glass of wine, the sea growing quiet — everything seems to belong to a moment I would like to hold a little longer.
I chose the title of Françoise Sagan’s Bonjour Tristesse for that gentle sadness which sometimes accompanies beautiful things. Not because I wanted to illustrate the novel, but because even the happiest summer evenings carry a small reminder that they cannot last forever.

Description
The Paper I Use
Hahnemühle William Turner 190gsm
A 100% cotton, mould-made fine-art paper with a distinct watercolor texture and a soft matte surface. Its natural white tone and delicate grain bring depth to the pigments while preserving the gentle transitions of light in my original watercolor.
Acid- and lignin-free, without optical brighteners, it is designed for archival fine-art printing.
The Edition
This artwork is reproduced as a limited edition of 35 fine-art giclée prints on Hahnemühle William Turner 190gsm. Each print is signed and numbered by hand and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
